Uses of Yerba Buena Answered by: Yvonne Tremblay Question from: Mia Pineda Posted on: February 21, 2008
Can you give us information relating to the leaves extract of yerba buena as one of the ingredients in candy making?
Yerba buena is a general name for various varieties of the herb mint. Commonly it refers to spearmint. Depends on where you are. What is it that you would like to know? Do you want to know what to do with mint leaves? Or, do you want to make candy? Likely it is mint extract and not the herb itself that is used for making confections. Mint is good in grain dishes like tabbouleh (made with bulgur), added to yogurt and eaten with meats, used in fruit salsas (mango or pineapple) and mixed fruit salads, in fresh Thai spring rolls, and in drinks from iced tea, wine spritzers, mojitos, mint julep, etc. | | |
