Cinnamon Yam, Is It Invasive?

Could you please tell me if cinnamon yam is highly invasive? I would not like to be responsible for another kudzu-type plant in New England. The yam really sounds like a wonderful source of edible tubers. Was it a misprint or would they actually grow 3 feet here in southern Rhode Island? NOTHING grows that large except our ROCKS! A couple of us are going to order.
We have never heard anyone complain that cinnamon yam is invasive. It is not listed as invasive in "A Geographical Atlas of World Weeds" (Holm et al., Wiley-Interscience, 1979). Since your soil seems to be rocky I doubt that your tubers will reach their maximum size. They need rich, moist, well-drained soil combined with a long growing season to reach their potential.
