Lavender Growing Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Doris Posted on: May 18, 1998
I would like information on growing lavender.
Lavender likes well drained, fertile but not too rich a soil that contains lime. To get flower production the plants should receive full sun. Mulching the plants will prevent too rapid drying out as well as help the plants survive the winter by moderating temperature fluctuations. In areas colder than zone five even the hardiest strains of English lavender will have to wintered indoors in a cool but bright area.
