Curry Plant Culture and Uses Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Lorraine V. Smith Posted on: July 28, 1998
I have a curry plant in a six inch (fifteen centimeter) pot. I need to know how to care for it. Does it need full or partial sun? What are the culinary uses?
To develop the best and strongest scent, grow your curry plant in full sun. Keep it fairly moist, but never soggy. The occasional slight drying out does not harm it.
The curry plant is mainly a scent plant with a delightful curry scent, that does not really translate into a curry flavour in cooking uses. The plant imparts a mild, fruity, slightly bitter taste to dishes.
