Pennyroyal Leaves Turning Red Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Karen Posted on: September 4, 1998
Please tell me why my Pennyroyal leaves are turning reddish and the plant just doesn’t look as vibrant?
A reddening of leaves is usually a signal that the plant is under stress. Drought, too much sun, cold temperatures are common causes of reddening in plants. Pennyroyal is a water-loving plant and our first inclination would be to check the watering. Improper watering can leave the surface of the soil looking wet while below the surface the soil is dry. This is a very common problem, even in commercial greenhouses when the waterers are inexpereienced.
