Growing Laurus nobilis from Cuttings

We have three lovely trees about 5 feet tall and very healthy looking. The trees are developing an abundance of new shoots at the base of the plant which also look very healthy. We want to take these shoots and re-pot them to grow more trees. What is the correct procedure?
Bay Laurel trees are not easy to grow from cuttings. We find beds of sterilized sand, misted frequently work best. Frequency of misting varies with the temperature. Rooting hormone is also very helpful. Early spring is the best time. Growing them from seed is slow, but much easier.
