Problems with Rosemary, Thyme and Parsley Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Loraine Posted on: May 27, 2007
My problem is with rosmary, thyme and parsley. Every year I buy new plants and always the leaves on them seem to go brown. They are in pots in my garden that faces south, I water a little every other day. Could you please tell me what the problem could be?
I suspect when you water you do not water enough. Wait until the soil surface is dry, then water well. The water has to come pouring out of the bottom of the pot. If the pot has no hole in the bottom, use a drill to make one! Otherwise as the water evaporates, salts that were in it accumulate in the soil and kill the roots -- and presto -- a dead plant whose leaves turn brown.
