Germinating Blueberries, Vaccinium Species Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Joyce Woods Posted on: July 19, 2007
How do I grow blueberry trees from seed?
It seems all Vaccinium species should be sown on the surface of a damp acid medium, such as peat moss, misted so that the tiny seeds settle, covered with plastic and put into a bright spot out of direct sun. They should germinate in two to three weeks. I myself managed to get two plants just by spitting out the seeds from a cultivated blueberry onto the surface of my acid bog garden!
