Body Building Herbs

What type of herbs will enhance bodybuilding? I have seen several stories on TV and cannot get the herbs written down that will help.

For body building we suggest:

Alfalfa, which is rich in vitamins and minerals, and enzymes that are helpful for processing nutrients;

Flax seed, which contains healthy oils and protein.

Depending on the patient’s needs, we may suggest Saw Palmetto, a tonic nutrient that stimulates the endocrine system (the system that secretes hormones to the glands such as thyroid, pituitary and adrenal). This may be used particularly during or after illness.

Some supplements sold for body building may have harmful side effects. For example, protein supplements may cause liver damage and steroids may cause malfunction of the adrenal glands. For long term health, a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise & relaxation is necessary to nourish all parts of the body.
