I was seeking information on herbs for libido. I saw that Damiana was one of them. I would like to know how much you take for male and female on a daily basis.

What are the effects of taking Ginsing for a period of time?

Thomas Bartram, in "Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine" (available at Richters) states the dosage of Damiana, three times a day, as:

Dried herb: one teaspoon to a cup of boiling water, steeped for fifteen minutes; Half to one cup

Liquid extract: Half to one teaspoon in water

Tincture: One to two teaspoons in water

Tablets: One 300mg tablet after meals

Taking Ginseng for long periods will exhaust your system. It should be taken for periods of one week to one month. It should not be taken if you drink coffee, have high blood pressure or heart problems.
