Devil’s Bit (Succisa pratensis) Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Gary Malone Posted on: August 8, 1999
Have you ever heard of devil’s bit (Succisa pratensis)? If it’s the same one I’m thinking of this herb is an anti-poison or anti-venom herb.
Hortus Third and Britten & Brown "An Illustrated Flora Of The Northern United States And Canada" both describe the plant. It looks a bit like a scabiosa, and is naturalized on the eastern part of North America, but I could not find any book mentioning its medicinal uses.
