Sweats and Chills Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Tammie Posted on: September 7, 2000
I was wondering if there is something to take or do for the following: When it is cool outside or inside, I get cold or chilled very easily and when it warm or hot, I get extremly hot and sweaty easily. This does not make much sense to me or other people around me when I always have to carry a sweater wherever I go (even if I am wearing shorts and a tank top). I hope that you have some guidance for me.
Unexplained temperature extremes could be caused by hormone or blood-sugar imbalances. Heart function and nerves can be factors. The brain’s temperature control centre is affected by hormones and stress. The blood vessels near the skin surface, that dilate to allow sweating, are sensitive to hormones. I recommend that you see your health care provider for blood tests and to evaluate any other symptoms you may have.
