I am looking for the herb called sabal. People who have prostate cancer in Europe take the herb sabal. Dr Vogel makes this herb called sabal. Can we get this herb in the United States?
The name "sabal" is applied to several different palms, including the genus "Sabal". The Palmetto palm (Sabal palmetto) is a beautiful evergreen palm used for landscaping in Florida and throughout the American Southeast.
According to the Dutch A. Vogel website (www.vogel.nl), "sabal complex" product contains, among other herbs, Serenoa serrulata, a palm closely related to the saw palmetto (Serenoa repens). Saw palmetto is a popular herb for the treatment of prostate problems, including prostate cancer.
Products such as Dr. Vogel’s are generally sold through health food stores in North America. For availability information you should contact the manufacturer. The best known manufacturer of Dr. Vogel’s products worldwide is Bioforce (www.bioforce.com), but Bioforce does not appear to be selling the sabal product. The Dutch company seems to be a separate company so perhaps you should start by visiting its website.
