Barley Greens for High Blood Pressure? Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Kim Posted on: August 09, 2004
Have you heard of barley greens? My mother was told that it lowers blood pressure. Is this true? Please forward any information you may have on this. I would greatly appreciate it. If you have any other suggestions on which herb(s) may lower Blood Pressure this would also be greatly appreciated.
The juice of the young barley leaves provides highly concentrated amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and chlorophyll. It protects the immune system, and is said to protect against cancer and aging. Barley greens are very rich in potassium. Low potassium levels in the blood are associated with heart problems. So far, there is no evidence that barley greens cures any medical problem.
