Keeping the Pulp in Juicing Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Gayle Posted on: November 10, 2005
I would love to get healthy and energized. I am considerably overweight and I am also middle aged which is not a good combination.
I love fruit and vegetables and would love to start a juicing regimen. What, in your opinion, is the best juicer? The juicer that will get the most out of the ingredients? I am skeptical about the juicers that throw out the pulp. Aren’t there a considerable amount of nutrients lost that way?
When you discard the pulp in juicing, you loose the fibre and some of the nutrients. Juicing is a good way to get nutrients, but juices are high in sugar, without the balancing fibre. If you are overweight, it may be better for you to keep the pulp in so that you get all of the fibre. I like to use a Vitamix blender. It is heavy duty, easily blending fruit and vegetables to make soups and juices with the pulp.
