Herbal Replacement for Blood Thinners?

I have been taking Coumadin for the past 20 years after having a mechanical aortic valve replacement at age 30. I would love to get off the "rat poison" and take an herbal mix of some kind. Can you help me?

There are several herbs used to improve circulation and thin the blood, but I cannot recommend that you stop taking coumadin. This decision should be made with your doctor in consultation with a natural health practitioner. A natural practitioner, such as a medical herbalist or a naturopath, can assess your condition and recommend a diet, herbs and supplements to strengthen your heart and blood vessels, improve blood flow and eventually may be able to help you to get off the coumadin. It is critical to use the correct dose of blood thinners, whether drugs or herbs.
