My father has chronic myeloid leukemia. His blood is high in white cells (leukocytes), low in red cells (hemoglobine) and low in platelets. We have been told about Essiac. Would Essiac be suitable for him? is there any other herbs more suitable for him?

Essiac is a formula that helps to keep the bodies elimination systems clear and functioning so yes, it would be indication for your father. Other lymph support herbs are cleavers, poke root, echinacea, red clover and To help increase low platelets, please see:

Nettles, beets and organic liver are also recommended to increase low platelets.

However, it really is best that your father makes an appointment with a qualified practitioner for an individualized and specific program as each person reacts differently is similar illness.
