Dental Radiation Exposure Question from: Rachel Posted on: July 23, 2009
I am occasionally exposed to radiation from dental x-rays for dental work I require. What herbal supplements or foods are effective in protecting against such radiation? In addition, when and what amounts should be taken for maximum protection?
Amino acids - cysteine and glutathione, Vitamins A,C and E, essential fatty acids, selenium and zinc are believed to be protective against the negative effects of radiation. Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus), buckwheat, sea vegetables, high pectin fruits such as apples, and burdock root are also believed to help protect one. So in short, a diet that incorporates a variety of nutrient dense foods, that includes many of the foods and nutrients mentioned above would be indicated.
