Does gota kola help with nervousness so you can sleep?

Gotu kola is an adaptogen and central nervous system relaxant. As a result it is useful for several different types of sleep disorders such as those from reduced adrenal function, blood sugar dys-regulation, and nervous depletion. So yes, it can be used to help one sleep. However, it is best if used in combination with herbs with a stronger relaxant affect such as chamomile, catnip, lavender or lemon balm. Other nervous sytem support would also be indicated such as a diet high in B vitamins - fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains, and essential fatty acids such as flax seed oil and fish oils.
