Just getting ready to put our seed order together for this year. As a certified organic grower and for personal beliefs I have to be sure to stay away from any GE varieties. Can you please tell me if all the varieties you carry are free of GMO’s and if not which varieties we are to look out for.

Richters does not knowingly carry genetically engineered plants or seeds. Most of our varieties are little removed from the types found in the wild. Others are long in cultivation, long before the spectre of genetic engineering arrived. The newer introductions are mostly new herbs are traditional varieties from other lands and cultures, or they are the result of classical selective breeding techniques used by man for millenia. We don’t even carry many hybrids, which as seed companies go, is quite unusual because the hybrids are more profitable than open-pollinated varieties.
