‘Citrus’ Basil?

I’m looking for citrus basil plants. The last time I was able to purchase them was at the Westerfield House, Freeburg, IL. I understand that Mr. Westerfield sold his business, but that there are some places that still sell his varieties of mints and basil plants.

I remember when visiting the Westerfield House that someone mentioned that you carried some of Mr. Westerfield’s plants. Do you know where I may acquire citrus basil? It is not lemon or lime basil but an actual citrus basil.

Was talking to someone from the Extension Center at the University of Illinois and they suggested I contact your company.

We are not sure what you mean by ‘citrus basil’. We spoke to Jim Westerfield today about it and he said that he does not know what you are referring to by ‘citrus basil’ and he couldn’t offer any suggestions what other basils it might be.

We carry several citrus basils, i.e., regular lemon, ‘Mrs. Burns’ lemon, ‘Sweet Dani’ lemon, and lime basil. But you rule these out.

Sorry, we cannot help you further, except perhaps to try the three lemon varieties side-by-side and see if any of these are what you are looking for.

Jim Westerfield is well known for his mint varieties. He developed one which we carry called ‘Julia’s Sweet Citrus’ and I am wondering if by any chance you are thinking of that.
